- Veggies for Vinnie's
- St Vincent de Paul, thanks to some volunteers, has a new garden located on the corner of Central Avenue and Arnold. This garden will help to offset our need for fresh produce for our clients. Earlier this year a main contributor of fresh produce was told that they could not plant vegetables on their land and give them to us at St. Vincents because of the chemicals from the next door neighbor's ginseng farm. This was a big blow to us at St. Vincent's because our clients depend on us for their fresh vegetables and fruit during the summer months. So the board decided to plant Veggies for Vinnie's to bring attention of the need for fresh produce. A special thanks goes out to Central Wisconsin Landscaping for donating 5 truckloads of dirt, Brandl for delivering the dirt and Mill Creek Gardens for donating the garden plants.
If you have been blessed with an abundance of fresh produce in your garden this year, please keep St. Vincent's in mind for any extra produce that you are not able to use. Volunteers are also needed to water and weed the new garden. If you are interested in helping, please contact Deb Steltenpohl at 715-387-0395.
